Logo Investigation
KPM Productions:
This is my groups old logo for our film that has been used for Preliminary Task 1. The font is too small and does not glow up like the action, even the eagle is small.
KPM Productions:
This is my groups new logo for our film that has been used for Preliminary Task 2 and Foundational Portfolio. After noticing that the old logo was not as good as we expected we changed it to to make it more broad and bold. We made the text glow up like the action and also made the text and eagle bigger so it comes across more clearer.
AMBLIN ENTERTAINMENT:
Steven spielberg named his own production compant which he has used to help producers make movies including his very own movies for 40years, after his first ever theatrical released movie "Amblin" the film about a man and a women who meet in a desert, start hitchhiking, fall in love, and later part ways. spielberg wrote edited and directed the film for a production budget of $15,000. The Amblin logo has nothing to do with the movie, the image in it was actually taken by the most iconic shot in spielbergs science-fiction drama movie "ET" or "The extra terrestrial". In which elliots bike flies across the moon with ET in the basket, which was the second movie produced by the company and it went on to be the highest grossing movie ever made at the time.
The old lionsgate logo featured an actual gate opening up with animated gears cranking around. In 2013 released their new updated CGI logo at a cinema con presentation, they wanted to reflect their ambition and growth following a inredible year in which they equired SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT, launched a T.V. devision and started their own blockbuster franchise with Y.A. Novel Adaptaions "The Hunger Games"
PIXAR:
Pixar is an animation studio with a near perfect track record, pretty much everyone of their movies win the academy reward for best animaed feature or is at least nominated and mos of their productions have scored over 90% on rotten tomatoes, their responisble for some of the most beloved characters in animated movies "BUZZLIGHTYEAR", "Edna mode", "Mike Wazowski", "Dori", and "WALL-E". And they are also they are actually the team who created computer animation in the first place, with the help of steve jobs. BUT why is there a desk lamp and a ball bounching around in their logo, it goes back to their initial routes, there is a short animated film called luxo Junior that was actually the directorial debut of john lasitor and one of the first computer animations created by the pixar team. In this movie the desk lamps bounces around with its dad and plays with a bsll with a star on it, tha has become a recurring motif in pixar movies. The Pixar team themselves explains it very simply "In 1986 pixar produced its first film and this is why we have a hopping lamp in our logo. Simple".
20TH CENTURY FOX is on of the most important studios because it gave us two of the best movies which were both writen and directed by James Cameron. And it gave George Lucas a chance on his weird little space movie when no one else would. The original Matte black logo which was painted and that relected the art deco movement of the 1950's in which it was created. The most memorable part of the 20TH CENTURY FOX logo is easily its musical fan-fair, the music was originally composed by alfred Newman in 1933 and later re-recorded by in 1035 when the studio was officially established as a film making tour-de-force. Nweman would later be hired as the head of 20TH CENTURY FOX's music department in the 1940's a title that he would keep until the 60's. The fan-fair was out of use by the 1970's but George Lucas was such a big fan that he brought it back for star wars, thats why it still exists in the CGI version that we see today.
